Try-its: - List as many words as you can that describe the person you want to be.
For example; powerful, dynamic, positive, lovable, capable, philanthropic, stable, financially wealthy.
- Just for today decide how a person with those characteristics would act if they where living your life.
- Act that way.
Books:
The Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen (1995, Berkley Publishing Group)
Here is a life-changing book for both me… and for my 12-year-old daughter. The book is about the power of learning to ask for what you want. It is a simple, easy-to-read story of Aladdin and his search for riches of wealth, health, love and answers. The book has helped me learn how to change my actions AND my reactions to situations by asking for my desires. Imagine a well-worn; dog-eared book and you will have imagined my copy.
Kick butt actions:
Before you go on with your life, take time this month to review where you’ve been. So often we think we haven’t done anything, or accomplished anything until we review all that we have done. This log is not only for work but also a review of your relationships, your physical health, and your attitude. Once you review it congratulate yourself on achievements and if you haven’t logged your actions for 2000 look at this message as an opportunity. Start right now to log your actions for the New Year, next year at this time you will see all that you have to celebrate!
Use a table to log calls, sales, and actions. Use a journal to share your emotional and spiritual growth (make sure you have a gratitude book to keep you focused on blessings). My friend Patti shared her log that she created using Microsoft® Excel® to create graphs that review her goals and actions. It is impressive to see. If you know someone who is skilled in Excel® ask them to show you how to do it.
The Motivational Times offers monthly suggestions, quotes, try-its, books and kick butt actions that can take you steps –no LEAPS, into a positive today! Being alive, having the courage to try some of the techniques and being liberated from thoughts, actions, or beliefs that hold you back are the basis of this newsletter.
