Attend a support group session. Look in your local paper for a group that interests you. Maybe you want to start your own business – go to the Small Business Administration and join one of their new business groups. Perhaps you are a stay at home mom find a group that supports your growth, a book reading group, financial investment club, a moms of toddlers group. Or start your own group.

If you are in a career and/or have been in business for awhile I HIGHLY recommend creating a powerful mastermind group. A mastermind group is a group of people (more than four and not more than six) that meet twice a month, once a month or once a quarter. You plan, set goals and hold each other accountable while celebrating the small steps. I have a mastermind group with four wonderful ladies. We use the Mastermind Journal to organize our meetings. ~~~Books:

A friend of mine recently gave me The Theft of the Spirit - A journey to Spiritual Healing by Carl A. Hammerschlag, MD to read. I wasn’t enticed by the name of the book and thought that it might be a bit new age for my taste – but I was surprised. What I found was a series of intriguing stories about this man and his self-discoveries. It was funny ( I burst out laughing on the plane at one point) and touching (on the same plane tears where rolling down my face). I learned about myself and was ready to list the areas I wanted to continue to work on. Don’t let the cover mislead you the content was terrific.

~~~Kick butt actions:

1. Get a coach for your personal and professional success. There are all types of coaches for personal and professional success. Get someone who comes with recommendations and someone you feel comfortable with.
2. List 10 to 25 people – not necessarily family members – who can advise you, who sends you referrals, and has information or the ability to find information that will support you. Keep in contact with them. Mail a postcard, call them or send them an email at least once a month.
3. If you don’t have 10 people to put on your list it is time to get involved in activities. Join organizations and committee work in your community, work, spiritual center, or school. Start meeting people and create a network for yourself. The more people you know the better your odds are to achieving your dream.
