The Gift of Knowing

I have had a long time of knowing. A long time of knowing but not necessarily believing this was my destiny. For a long time, I kept asking for my mission and my purpose. While I had many signals that directed me, I still was not sure.

My journey has been as glorious as a winding stream traveling long distances, curving, going back, and having many switchbacks. At times my stream was a rapid river of abundance and experiences, at other times it was a little trickle, still moving but by droplets. I know I was impatient, wondering and often not appreciating where I was and how I got there.

What I’ve learned is the stream will always be flowing until the day I die, only then, maybe I will have reached my destiny.

Confidence

You want to open doors, be confident. You want to have an expansive life be confident. You want to achieve success in your life, career, relationships, being confident allows you to have it all.

Confidence is a feeling or emotion.

Like all feelings and emotions confidence is in your control. Too often I hear people deny their confidence, they keep telling the same story. Get confident, put yourself out there over and over and over no matter what.

Not arrogant, but confident. Confidence is an internal knowing – a glow, while arrogance is a superior need to laud oneself over others. You can be arrogant and not confident.

Confidence is the fulcrum of your life. It is that sturdy, center that balances you and keeps you steady when things around you are teetering back and forth like a seesaw.

Be A Diamond Cutter

A foible is a minor weakness or eccentricity in someone’s character. Synonyms include words such as weakness, failing, shortcomings, flaws, imperfections, blemish, fault or limitations.

Humans tend to look for imperfections, comparing themselves to perfection which doesn’t exist. They search for what is wrong rather than search for what is right.

I love reading about diamonds and their value. I apply what I learn to myself and the people I work with. I want to use my knowledge to help people respect, honor and showcase their value.

Recently I read about the flaws, imperfections, and blemishes of diamonds.

“Diamonds are formed deep within the earth, under extreme heat and pressure; virtually all diamonds contain “birthmarks”, small imperfections inside the diamond (called inclusions), or on its surface (called blemishes). Clarity refers to the degree to which these imperfections are present. Diamond cutters make every effort to cut a stone so that inclusions are not visible through the table of the finished diamond.”

I love how Diamond cutters call imperfections inclusions. Every diamond has an inclusion. You are a diamond, as valuable, unique, inclusive and brilliant.

Leaders Take R.I.S.K.S.

Take the risk and grow your influence as leaders. Being a leader requires you to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, share yourself, think bigger and be bigger.

Leaders Take R.I.S.K.S.

R = Relationship

Focus on relationships and building new relationships. For me, it’s this year’s aim to have a hundred breakfast, lunch, coffee or dinner meetings. To attend gatherings so I can meet new people and connect with them one-on-one or in small groups. This is big, I like staying in and being in quiet.

I =  Illuminate Your Success

There is nothing wrong with highlighting successes that you have achieved.  People want to celebrate your successes. Post on Facebook and Linkedin and share your awards. Share what you’ve accomplished or have achieved lately. It makes a difference to people because they love celebrating their friends and acquaintances who have achieved. It’s also inspiring to them, so share your successes, it matters to people.

3 Ways Great Leaders Make Things Happen

Great leaders make things happen through their vision, energy, and vibration

Great leaders master the art of making things happen. Leaders know that results happen when they have:WHEN MEN DON’T LET YOU SPEAK

  1. A vision that you, the leader, want to experience
  2. The ability to create energy around that vision
  3. Exude the vibrations of success around the vision. They exude confidence, clarity, and calmness.

You make the vision of what you want to have happened through three activities

Leaders think.

You spend quiet time asking yourself in 5 years, 5 months or even 5 weeks what do you want to experience and feel. That is why we go after anything we want to feel a sweet sense of satisfaction.  In order to know that you have to think. Really think about what you want. You have to use your imagination, you have to see it. It begins with your thought.

Military Millennials Train to be Great Leaders

Military Millennials Are Different

Military Millennials Are Different — Those who have signed up to serve our country now and in the coming future are Millennials. People lump all Millennials into one bucket and make assumptions of who they are. There is a subset of Millennials that you, as leaders, have to be aware of. After their military service, they will see to work for your companies, organizations, and associations.   Know who you are dealing with. The moment you see military service or prior service, shift your perspective.

Remember we are an all volunteer military.  To join the military you have to be between the ages of 17 to 34, depending on the branch. I call them #MilitaryMillenials

Here are 6 falsehoods about Millenials who join the military and are prior service (veterans).

Seesaw of Shame, Failure, Success at Professional Conferences

What will you think of me? That thought crosses the minds of thousands of leaders going to professional conferences.

The Seesaw of Shame, Failure, Success at Professional Conferences

Pegine Leadership Business Motivational Speaker www.pegine.com 904.280.8806You are a few weeks out before your professional conference and I wanted to address an issue that I experience, have experienced and know others experience. The conflict within of shame, failure, and success. At your professional conference, the “How is everything?”Oh great… got this, got that, life is amazing‘ happens day in and day out.

Except in our head. The feelings of shame or failure can infect us. It is like a really huge magnifying glass focusing on what isn’t working, what hasn’t worked and the failings within.

If you go to professional conferences, no matter your leadership level, the see-saw is a natural occurrence. You see their outside presentation and compare what you see to your inside thoughts.
