Secret Key to Asking - Pegine

Secret Key to Asking

Magic sauce Ask for what you want

There is a secret key to achieving your dreams.  The key is asking. It is one of the most daunting action steps a person can take, and the most liberating.

There are many ways of asking, for most situations it starts with these three steps.

1. Decide what you want, specifically, know what you want overall. Then decide what you want in specifics (really break it down)

2. Know who to ask

3 Ask

It all sounds so simple.  I know it isn’t.

What do you want?

Be willing to ask yourself with sincerity, “what do I want” and be specific.  Then detach, knowing that if you get it great, if you don’t  that is also great.  You are confident in yourself, who you are and you know you are not defined by what you want and receive. You are unique and that is great. What you want is clear and you are confident you will get it, but it doesn’t define you. This is important to your state of mind. With or without it you are perfect as you are.  You want it and will go after it, it won’t define you.

Who do you ask

Once you have defined your want, list everyone you know. Then list they know who can help take a step towards what you want. You probably know more people than you imagine.  Often, we don’t acknowledge who we know and who can get us to where we want to be.  Make the list, be surprised, ask others who should be on your list.

Go through everyone on your list, call the people on your list and ask for their help and then ask the final question “What haven’t I asked you that I should be asking you?  That last question is magic.

To do this you will need to be bold, brave and believe in you. Doors open when you knock, opportunities are given when you show up to ask, prosperity flows when you show up. Be bold, brave and a believe in yourself.

Here are two books I love that teach the art of asking:

Ask Outrageously The Secret To Getting What You Really Want. By Linda Byars Swindling. I love this book.  It prepares you to ask boldly, give you structure and insights so that you can become an asking wizard.

The Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen is a gold mine. It has been around for years and has been a source of great inspiration to me.

Read them both and be brave, brave and powerful. It is all about you.
